GT: I was heavily into performing arts as a kid, but never took it seriously until I went to film school to study post production. I was quite happy behind the scenes but everyone was encouraging me to get in front of the camera!
Did you always want to be an actor/actress growing up?
GT: I think so, yes. Whenever Dad pulled out the video camera, I was all over it.
What do you enjoy the most about acting?
GT: I love getting lost in the moment, and feeling disoriented when the director yells ‘cut’!
What is the most challenging thing about acting?
GT: Making a living from it – everything else about it is fantastic.
Can you tell us some of the highlights of your career to date?
GT: Scoring my first TV guest role on Go Girls was such a buzz – that was the moment where I thought ‘Wow – I can actually do this.’ Following that up with a part in Sione’s 2: Unfinished Business was ace – then came the biggest highlight so far, being cast as a series regular on Spartacus: War of the Damned.
How did you get your role in Someone to Carry Me? What process or steps did you have to go through?
GT: Sam and I had worked together before on a short film – a few years later, he got in touch through a friend and asked if I was interested in auditioning for the part of Angelica.
Tell us a bit about your character in the film?
GT: Angelica shoulders a lot of responsibility in her family – her mother died when she was younger, so she started taking care of her baby sister while her father became abusive and withdrawn. She is fierce, responsible and compassionate – but rather vulnerable as well.
What are some of the current projects you are working on?
GT: Auditioning and collaborating with friends.
Do you have a dream role?
GT: I’d love to do another feature film.
Who is your favourite actor and director?
GT: Anyone who works hard and produces inspiring results is my favourite.
