Healing with wings

Healing’ is a wonderful movie, inspired by true events. It is one you shouldn’t miss! It is an uplifting drama, full of character depth, forgiveness, healing and ‘moving on’. Craig Monahan is the director and Hugo Weaving and Don Hany are the leading actors. The cinematography is by the Award winning Andrew Lesnie, and it is just superb!

The movie is set 200 km outside of Melbourne, Victoria, in a minimum security Prison farm. Viktor Khadem (Don Hany) has been in prison for 18 years and is unhappy and full of regrets. He moves to the farm after having a clean slate for four years, to await his parole.

While he is there, his case worker, Matt Perry (Hugo Weaving) starts up a rehabilitation program where injured birds of prey are brought to the farm and nursed back to health. Viktor is chosen to work with Yasmine, an injured Wedge-tailed eagle, preparing her for release back into the wild.

The relationships between the other prisoners and family members are important building blocks of the story. You will experience anger, frustration, happiness and relief…and may even shed a tear or two as well!

Thoroughly recommended and worth seeing by people from all walks of life!
