Interstellar Review

I was expecting great things from this film and it certainly met my expectations and more! It was 2 ½ hours of pure energy!

Interstellar is a Science Fiction film, directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan. It stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine.

Earth is slowly becoming inhabitable and the end looks near. A ‘wormhole’ is discovered in space and a group of explorers and scientists embark on a journey to find a new planet where human life can survive and continue. Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) leads the group, leaving behind two young children on earth, in search of something they may or may not find; not knowing if they will ever return.

I was impressed with the originality of this film. It is fast paced and you never really know where the story is going. It is slightly ‘weird’ in parts but necessary when you think about it afterwards! It is definitely a film that will keep the conversation flowing long after seeing it! The scenes in space were a highlight for me, with fantastic filming and use of music. At times I felt like I was on a ‘thrill-seeking’ ride at Universal Studios!

Interstellar will appeal to so many people. It is full of emotion, action, twists and turns, ‘jump’ moments and humour.

A  fantastic movie. Thoroughly recommended!
